EEWC Forum 2019
Call for papers
The EEWC Forum is a place within the Enterprise Engineering Working Conference (EEWC) for presentation and discussion of new and preliminary ideas, reports and case studies from practice and tools related to enterprise engineering. Intended to serve as an interactive platform, the Forum aims at the presentation of emerging new topics and controversial positions, as well as demonstration of innovative systems, tools, applications and reports of application of enterprise engineering methods and tools. The Forum sessions at the EEWC conference aim to facilitate the interaction, discussion, and exchange of ideas among presenters and participants and integrate knowledge of academic and practitioner perspectives. As in 2018 and 2017, the Forum includes the TEE (Transformation and Engineering of Enterprises) series .
Contributions to EEWC Forum are welcome to address any of the EEWC conference topics (see the Call for Papers) and in particular the themes of TEE series.

We invite two types of submissions:
Poster papers present innovative research projects, which are still at a relatively early stage and do not necessarily include a full-scale validation. Poster papers will be presented as posters in the Forum’s Poster Sessions in the EEWC Program.
Case Reports describe real world cases. These papers typically take a “practitioner’s” perspective, and tend not to use formal scientific protocols. These papers provide interesting starting points for discussion and reflection during the conference.
Poster papers are short papers that must not exceed 8 pages and case report papers have maximum limit of 15 pages. Both papers must follow the LNCS format. They should be submitted in PDF format through our conference management system available here. The submitted papers must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere.
Case Report Guidelines
Case report papers should reflect the mission of TEE, which is bringing together academia and the industry regarding the EEWC topics. Case reports should stimulate the discussion and the synergy between these two “worlds”, with the ultimate objective of improving the field of enterprise engineering and transformation. Case reports should follow the STARR format (Situation, Task, Approach, Result, Reflection).
The following STARR points should be discussed in the paper:
The Situation in which the case is positioned. This includes (but is not limited to) the broader context of the case organisation (e.g. market, competition), the characteristics of the case organisation (facts & figures), its challenges and opportunities, important stakeholders, the reason why the case (project) was initiated, possibly a history of earlier attempts, etc.
The Task that has been conducted. This includes (but is not limited to) goals and objectives of the project, its budget and timelines, special requirements, the roles of the various stakeholders.
The Approach taken. This includes (but is not limited to) the method used, the various steps in this method, the paradigm or underlying philosophy of the approach/method, the work products and deliverables that were produced, the way in which the project was planned and managed, the risk management approach and the tools used.
The Results of the project/efforts. This includes (but is not limited to) the actual benefits for the case organisation and stakeholders, a cost/benefit analysis and the extent to which the case organisation was actually transformed.
A Reflection on the case. This includes (but is not limited to) a discussion about the faced challenges, the way in which the existing methods, frameworks, etc, aided in dealing with these challenges, omissions and limitations found, thoughts on how to possibly ‘fix’ such omissions and limitations.
Contrary to e.g. case studies, no formal scientific methods is required for the reflections in a case report. Case reports are also specifically intended to allow practitioners to engage in the discussions at the EEWC Forum.
Paper submission from industry as well as from young researchers (MSc. graduates, young PhD researchers) is strongly encouraged.
Publication and Presentations
Accepted papers will be submitted for publication online in CEUR Proceedings.
It is expected that at least one of the authors attends EEWC and presents the paper either as poster or as a case report. The presentation in both cases will include the participation at the EEWC forum discussions between the authors and EEWC participants.
